🌼 Welcome to dose 13 of YIN + TONIC 🌼

This is my unapologetically optimistic single shot of goodness, to help nourish, comfort, support, bolster + uplift, EVERY SINGLE WEDNESDAY.


Often, at the start of Spring, we can get that sense that we need to dig deep into the soil of our beings, to uproot those clinging weeds, stymying our growth…

Where will our strength come from? How can we lift winter’s heaviness & find levity once again?

These are questions I’ve had in mind as I’ve entered spring, as when we enter a new, lighter season feeling tired or depleted – perhaps because Winter did not offer as many opportunities for stillness + rest as we longed for or needed – a new ‘chapter’ can arrive with mixed feelings.

Am I ready for what is being asked of me – not only of my self and my family, but of my own heart + soul?

Alice held these energies + questions in mind as she created this hour-long clearing & rebalancing sound bath for us. The result is deeply restorative. In the run-up to sharing it here, I listened to it three nights in a row (extra strength was certainly needed), and I had the most delicious, deep & healing sleep each night.

A mindful word first: if you have never experienced a sound bath before, ease yourself in gently. They can sound odd and unusual – even grating at times – to the human ear… it may be deeeeeply relaxing for some, but uncomfortable for others… that’s because the sound vibrations move through the body in a reverbatory way, and that can sometimes cause discomfort to those who have points within their nervous systems which may be more sensitive to certain vibrations. I’d suggest easing in with a speaker or the sound from your phone (if good quality) and then use earbuds for a deeper resonance, if the sound lands well with you + your body.

What’s also sort-of miraculous is that when this lesson was first shared, a few years ago at The Clearing (the name of my pre-Substack member’s space) I had EXACTLY the same experience with sleeplessness then… I saw the note in my diary, from April 2021! And even though Alice first recorded this lesson in March for the vernal equinox, it’s become the one I return to MOST OFTEN at all times of year, whenever that cup of mine is calling out to be filled, and need a sleep re-set…

I’d love to know how it lands for you… although what I will say is that when this was first aired + shared at The Clearing, it was a hugely popular session and we had more comments on the nourishing energy of this sound bath than any other (thanks as always to the gentlest, kindest soul, Alice Rose, for sharing it with us).
